Branding, Graphic Design
The City of Orlando launched it's new branding in late 2016. The motivation behind the brand change was to consolidate the many program and department logos throughout the city and create a more uniform identity. My biggest contribution was updating the fountain icon itself. The previous fountain was created by an unknown city worker in the 80's to be printed on our street signs. The fountain icon on street signs has always been a good way to tell if you are in city limits or not. When I got the clearance to improve it I thought to space out the segments and create a more symmetrical water spout. I then thought to divide the fountain into six segments, to represent our six districts.
